DISCIPLINE CONSEQUENCES
Students will be responsible for following all of the classroom rules. If a problem occurs, the following steps will take place in order to correct the behavior:
1st Offense: Warning from the teacher, behavior documented
2nd Offense: Lunch Detention
3rd Offense: After-school detention and Parent Contact
4th Offense: Office Referral
Severe Disruptions: Immediate Administrative Intervention

GRADING SYSTEM
A quiz may be given daily and will not always be announced. It may cover any previous notes, worksheets, homework and reading assignments. The quiz will be given at the beginning of class and students should begin working on it immediately.
You are responsible for ALL material discussed in class including audiotapes and videos. You are also responsible for material in your textbook.
Study every night!!
Written homework may be given 2-3 times a week.
NEATNESS always counts. Work that is unreadable or messy will not be accepted.

Grading scale is as follows:
A = 90-100%
B+ = 87-89
B = 80-86
C+ = 77-79
C = 70-76
D+ = 67-69
D = 60-66
F = 0-59

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
When you enter the classroom:
- Enter the classroom quietly and on time.
- Put your homework silently in the Homework Basket.
- Go to your assigned seat.
- Be in your seat before the first bell rings.
- Have materials ready and attention focused when the
lesson begins.
- Begin promptly the assignment on the board.

Attention: What to do if you are late for class
- You are tardy if you are not in your seat when the
clock says the class begins. If you report to class
after this time, you must have a pass from another
teacher, an administrator or office staff.
- Tardy passes and late bus passes go into the Tardy
Folder.
- Students who are tardy also need to complete
the "You are tardy" sign-in sheet.
- After a second tardy, parents will be notified and
student may be asked to serve detention.
- After a third tardy, the student will be referred to
administration.

When you need to get your teacher's attention:
- Raise your hand and wait quietly to be recognized.
- Continue working on the assignment until the teacher
recognizes you.
- Do not interrupt others. Only one person speaks at a
time.
- Listen attentively when others have the floor.

During announcements:
Please stop talking and listen when an announcement is being made over the intercom or TV.

Procedure for classroom assignment heading:
Example:

- Subject/Period L.A./Pd 2
- Date August 18, 2008

**All no name papers will be placed in the "No Name File" by my desk. Students need to see me to claim their no name papers. (If after a week a No Name Paper is claimed, it will be discharged).

Procedure for leaving the classroom individually/hall passes:
- The teacher will issue a hall pass only in cases of
emergency. You are in the classroom to stay, so take
care of restroom and other needs before you come to
class.
- Do not interrupt the lesson.
- Raise your hand to ask for permission.
- Only one student may leave the classroom at a time.
- No student will be allowed to leave the classroom
during the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes
of class.
- After obtaining permission from the teacher,
students will appropriately sign the check-out sheet
before leaving the classroom.
- Use the hall pass responsibly or lose it. The
teacher reserves the right to deny a hall pass to
any student who misuses the hall pass at any time
outside of this classroom. Misuse includes any
activity that is not bathroom or water.
- Passes to other locations on the campus are at the
discretion of the teacher.
- Passes are valid for 5 minutes. If you are absent
from this class for more than 5 minutes, there will
be discipline consequences.

Procedure for dismissal:
- The bell or clock does not dismiss the class. Your
teacher will dismiss the class.
- When the bell rings, sit down. Remain in your seat
and get silent.
- Quietly put away your things. Pick up all trash,
etc. from your space.
- If you are in charge of returning the materials for
your group, do so quickly and quietly.
- Line up as your group is called.
- Remain silent.
- Face the front and keep your arms and legs to
yourself.
- Walk out of the classroom quietly.

COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
Agendas are provided for each student at our school. All students are required to write their assignments in their agendas daily. Parents should check the student agenda nightly for assignments and/or messages from the teachers.
